Bayberry Plaza Owner – Joseph Janowski
Mr. Joseph S. Janowski is a licensed Pharmacist in the State of New York, Vermont, and Florida. He purchased his first pharmacy in 1968 and subsequently opened four more retail pharmacies in the Syracuse market under the name of Tri-R Neighborhood Pharmacies. In 1983 he purchased a pharmacy in Boca Raton, Florida and in the following years, opened two additional satellite pharmacies there. He served as past President of the Onondaga County Pharmaceutical Society.
Mr. Janowski has owned, since 1975, the Recreo Medicated Powder Company, which is marketed and distributed nationally to nursing homes, hospitals, and pharmacies.
He is the owner of Travel Leaders in Liverpool, NY, since 2002. The agency now employs 24 agents and outside independent contractors. He attends annual National Travel Leaders Meetings and seminars. He serves on a Board of Directors for Travel Leaders Franchises and networks with many other Travel Leaders agencies across the country. He has also served on the Advisory Council for Disney Resorts.
He has an extensive background in real estate which began in 1976 when he purchased the Bayberry Plaza shopping center in Liverpool, New York. Since that time the Plaza has been been expanded and beautifully renovated to a total of 100,000 square feet and with up to 90% tenancy, which include a US Post Office, Kinney Drugs and Bank of America. He owns a tenancy building which consists of the Liberty Tax Service Co. His duties in his real estate holdings have included financial packaging, leasing, construction and overall management. Mr. Janowski received his broker’s license in 1996 and has since brokered several properties and businesses. Between 1983 and 1990 he developed a medical waste company that serviced 875 medical related offices, and a 36,000 square foot medical complex in Liverpool, New York. In 2010 he developed a new Pediatric Medical Center in Liverpool, New York.
Other past real estate holdings include the purchase and expansion of Bridgeport Plaza, Heritage Medical Complex, Greenwich Manor Apartments in Syracuse, New York and a medical facility in Phoenix, New York which was instrumental in providing the town with a General Practitioner and two dentists.
In year 2000, Mr. Janowski developed and owned a United States Post Office in Tully, New York. In 2004 he purchased a 70,000 square foot commercial building that was converted into offices, of which 30,000 square feet are leased to the State of New York.
Mr. Janowski has served as Onondaga Co. Pharmacy Association President, Trustee for Alliance College, College of Democracy in Washington, D.C., the National Kidney Foundation Board, the Heart Association Board. He also served as a Board Trustee of Alliance College, a Polish funded college in Cambridge Springs, Pennsylvania. He currently serves on the Landmark Theater Board and the Greater Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame Board. He is also a member of the Syracuse Basketball Hardwood Club. In 2007, he was named “Business Man of the Year” by the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce.
He is a licensed private instrument rated pilot for the past 25 years and actively flies his Piper Saratoga airplane for both leisure and business. He also contributes to and has performed Mercy Angel flights for people in need.
Mr. Janowski’s passion for baseball has taken him from coaching Little League Baseball for 10 years to funding a Little League baseball field in Jaslo, Poland. He is an American Director of the LLC Poland Foundation in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Mr. Janowski had the honor of working closely with baseball great and Hall of Famer Stan Musial in building a stadium and training center for Little League Baseball in Warsaw, Poland—the first outside the United States. This facility serves more than 45 countries today in educating and training youngsters in the game of baseball.
Presently Joe’s passion is focused on his family and dog, Marco.
